"There never can come to the world...peace and love"

"There never can come to the world that spirit of peace and love... until mankind will receive God's truth and God's message..., and acknowledge His power and authority which is divine."

Teachings of Presidents of the Church: John Taylor (2001), 151

"Many Search for Peace in worldly ways, which never have and never will succeed. Peace is not found by attaining great wealth, power, or prominence. Peace is not found in pursuit of pleasure, entertainment, or leisure. None of these can, even when attained in abundance, create any lasting happiness of peace."

"He descended below all things,..." Visions of Glory

"He descended below all things, so that He could overcome all things. And when He overcame all things, then He was prepared to take us by the hand and lift us above all things."

You are never alone in your sorrows and afflictions. There is someone who understands everything that you have ever gone through and will ever go through. Faith in this knowledge will help you endure all things in this life. Trust in the teaching of Christ, have faith that when we obey Him we will have the strength to endure all things.

"He gave His life to not only provide the path to these glorious things, but also to bestow upon us the empowerment of His grace, so that we are sanctified by Christ. Then He changes us to be like Him, not because we deserve it, but because He loves us and has empowered us to triumph when we obey Him"

“Wherefore, be not weary in well-doing, for ye are laying the foundation of a great work. And out of small things proceedeth that which is great.”

D&C 64:33

In our lives sometimes we feel as though most of what we are doing does not really matter. Our lives seem uneventful and mundane. Our simple acts of kindness go unnoticed, our sacrifices unrewarded, and our service to others is unappreciated. In D&C 64:33 the Lord tells us that out of these small acts great things will come. Sometimes we can't see the outcome, but know that when you are doing the Lords work, and His will, great things will come, for it too is His work and His glory.

Family is our Top Priority

"Sometimes in our busy, over-scheduled world, we have to remind ourselves what really matters. Most people say family is their highest priority, but in the pressure of day-to-day demands, it is challenging to put family first and think about the needs of spouses and children ahead of all the other needs and craziness we deal with every day."

"As our literal spirit brothers and sisters, children are worthy of our respect and diligent care, and parents are their stewards rather than their creators — stewards who should do their best to discover who and what each of their children already is and to raise all of them accordingly. In this context, praying for help in understanding and raising our children is a direct appeal to the real Parent, who knows them (and us) perfectly."

"Women of God can never be like women of the world."

“Women of God can never be like women of the world. The world has enough women who are tough; we need women who are tender. There are enough women who are coarse; we need women who are kind. There are enough women who are rude; we need women who are refined. We have enough women of fame and fortune; we need more women of faith. We have enough greed; we need more goodness. We have enough vanity; we need more virtue. We have enough popularity; we need more purity.”

― Margaret D. Nadauld

This has been my favorite quote since I was 18. I heard it in a Mission Prep class and had a handout that I kept on one of my binders. I had lost it and had no idea who said it or where to look. Well I just found it and it wasn't hard to find. Sometimes truth is easier to find than we think.

"...Walking away from...man."

"Holiness means walking away from the philosophies of man.  It means looking to prophets for spiritual counsel, not celebrities or experts, who may be appealing but who all come packing personal motives and an arsenal of half-truths.  It is deadly to take counsel from anyone whose primary motive is to build his or her own kingdom."

"...Faithful prayers of a righteous mother."

"There are few things more powerful than the
Faithful prayers of a righteous mother."
Boyd K. Paker

Heavenly Father is so mindful of all his children. Mothers have been given the sacred responsibility of raising their children in love and righteousness. "Children are an heritage of the Lord." (Psalm 127:3)
The Lord has trusted us with His children, not only to teach them but to be taught by them. This life is a test, a test to see if we can through trials and persecution follow the teachings of Christ. Children will test and try our patience, if in these moments we can be patient and turn to the ultimate parent for help our prayers will be answered. Our children will learn to love the Lord and to turn to Him when they have trials.

SearchPonderPray

SearchPonderPray is a blog I am creating not only for my own benefit but for others who are seeking for truth. Truths are all around us, some of us have the ability to recognize truth; when it is found it resonates within us, we feel it in our whole being and we cannot deny it. Others hear a truth and instantly find ways to challenge it. Often challenging truth gets us into trouble.
I for one have always been someone who needs proof, so I often have to learn my lessons the hard way. I have always admired those who can simply learn from others examples and feel it unnecessary to test the waters on their own. This saves them from a lot of pain and it saves them a lot of time.
Time is an interesting thing. When we are young we feel like we have tons of time, nothing but time. As we get older, time seems to speed up and your constantly running out of time. We try to buy time; we try to save time; we try to move back time. I have learned that the only way to save time is to not waste time and all the money in the world can't buy time. We can't move back time but we can learn from our past and make the best of the time we have left. If we could learn from others, those who have already gone through trials, who have already tested the waters and have already found truth; think of how much time that could save us.
SearchPonderPray is a blog that will be about my journey as I search, ponder, and pray about scriptures, books, talks and other material that have been written or created for the benefit of saving time and using our time wisely.
I will seek for truth and share truths that I find. My hope is that if you find truth in my posts that you will share them with others. I will also be exploring my graphic design/photography skills and create truth ads that can be shared with others.
We are so blessed to live in a day where we can share with so many our thoughts and opinions. Spend your time wisely; search, ponder and pray and share the truths that you find.
